Ever heard of the saying “it’s always in the last place you look?” Well, that doesn’t necessarily apply to things you lose. If you are battling a condition or symptom and can’t seem to figure what’s causing it, it could be as simple as your mattress. That’s right. Your daily random spells of dizziness could be due to your mattress!
Mattress allergies are not uncommon. It’s easy to imagine that the material in your mattress may be making you feel less then well. Unfortunately, most people assume that mattress allergies would bring a response that is similar to pollen. Bouts of sneezing and flu like symptoms. While this is a common reaction, there are plenty of other symptoms associated with your mattress. Sometimes, they may not be that obvious because it may not be the material. The mattress may be poorly designed and structured and can be physically straining your body in certain ways. The best way to figure it out is by elimination. If you are experiencing certain symptoms, shift to a different mattress for a while and look for changes.
It’s important to stay in the same room as sometimes, it could be something in the room that’s causing your symptoms. If the material is the problem, you might first want to consider a natural latex mattress. Mattress materials are notorious for bringing about allergies. This type of mattress is considered the best in terms of allergies as people rarely are allergic to natural latex.
If the natural latex mattress doesn’t solve the problem, there are few other options you can look into. An anti-histamine can operate as a temporary solution. You can also look at other options such as a gel mattress. There are also uncommon types of mattresses made from unique materials which you can consider. Be sure to pick a type that will complement your body structure and won’t do more harm than good. The last thing you want is your allergy to be gone, only to be replaced with an acute pain your neck when you wake up.
Depending on the type of negative reaction you’re experiencing, you may or may not suspect your mattress to be the cause. If you’re experiencing tinnitus or light-headedness, there’s a good chance, your first bet won’t be your mattress being the cause. Something like a rash however is more reason to believe that it could be the mattress. Of course, this is again unlikely if you have been using the same mattress for a long period of time.
Whether you are allergic or not, it’s advisable to change your mattress every once in a while to ensure that you are well rested and comfortable whenever you sleep.
